A wonderfully textured organic cinderella ring, hand crafted with fire, a hammer, precious metal and love, lots of love ... unique one of a kind jewelry.

The name Cinderella is actually a family name ... I'm sure you recognize it from the fairy tale and you probably know that in that fairy tale her real name was Ella but she was named Cinderella by her not so nice step-sisters because she was so often covered in cinders from cleaning the fireplaces.
This ring was born in fire, thus the cinders.  And like Cinderella and the glass slipper, if the ring fits it must be meant for you.
In the fairy tale, the glass slipper is symbolic of transformation, hope, and true love.
Thinking about transformation, this ring did not exist at all until the little silver grains were transformed by fire and a hammer.
My great, great grandmother's name was Cinderella ... my father’s, mother’s, mother’s mother was Cinderella Treworgy Young.  She was born December 26, 1843 and died sometime in 1920.  She was buried in Blue Hill, Maine, overlooking the Blue Hill Bay.

- approximate ring band width - 1/8" (5mm at its widest and 4mm at its narrowest)
- ring thickness, outside to inside of band - 1/8" (3mm)
- shown with a US dime and inch ruler for scale
- ring metal - recycled sterling silver (.925 silver), ss with a nugget of 14k yellow gold or bronze
- US ring size - 7
- if you need a ring size other than 7 please do contact me ... I am looking at other ways to create this same ring in a variety of sizes.

I created the original ring by hand carving a graphite block and then I torch melted the silver grains in an open kiln. Next, I shaped the ring by striking it with a hammer on a ring mandrel and sanded it inside and out to make it smooth and comfortable to wear.

The next process was taking that ring and sand casting in recycled sterling silver, or bronze, then hand finishing it. I've finished one sterling silver ring with a nice patina to highlight the details and texture and then buffing wax onto it to seal it, one sterling ring is polished shiny, one polished shiny with a nugget of 14k gold and one in bronze polished shiny and flowing ... all in my tiny little studio. I've identified the metal and finish in the seventh photo.
Very slow hand crafted jewelry because how it's made matters.
