witch wax seal necklace pendant - practical magic - wax seal jewelry
Bewitching witch wax seal jewelry ... because we're all a bit magic and there's a little bit of witch in all of us.
A witch wax seal necklace pendant, the witch wearing a conical hat, raising her hammer and flying on her broomstick surrounded by the sentiment PRACTICAL MAGIC.
The raised hammer is likely in reference to Mallevs Maleficarvm or Malleus Maleficarum, possibly Latin which translates to The Hammer of Witches, a book completed in 1486 about detecting and punishing witches.
- approximate measurement - 7/8" (23mm)
- shown with a US dime and an inch ruler for scale
- wax seal charm metal - sterling silver (.925 silver)
- charm only but it's shown on a necklace chain sold separately here
Completely hand crafted ... I carved a little witch intaglio, in wax, from an image of a witch in my 1830’s Knight’s Device Book but instead of inscribing WE ALL HAVE OUR HOBBIES, as it depicted, I inscribed PRACTICAL MAGIC.
Then I impressed it in sterling silver to create my own little witch wax seal necklace pendant.
The last photo depicts my antique witch wax seal collection.
