Straight from the heart, for the soft-hearted and kind, a bleeding heart under the all seeing eye wax seal necklace - wax seal jewelry created with a wax seal that dates back to the post medieval period in history.

- description -
The all seeing eye, with with 6 tears, sits over a heart with two downward pointing arrows piercing the heart crosswise, with 5 droplets of blood below it - thus, the bleeding heart. This is surrounded by a delicate beaded border.

- symbolism -
Depictions of Jesus on the cross often have pictures of a literal bleeding heart to represent his pain and how much he cared for people. Some believe that this is the origin of the idiom bleeding heart.
In the Middle Ages, there was a group called the Order of the Bleeding Heart, which prayed to the Virgin Mary, who is often depicted in iconography with a picture of a heart pierced with swords.

Those who are overly empathetic are often described as bleeding hearts and it's as if their entire heart cries (blood).

Hand cast from a small silver wax seal that dates back to the late medieval age in the early 1600's. See the photo of the seal matrix. The design of a pierced heart, surrounded by blood pellets, under a crown or eye, was popular in the 17th century.
