Impressed from a lovely small Victorian (1837 - 1901) desk wax seal with a thin turned
agate handle and a bronze or brass matrix depicting a single pansy surrounded by a beaded border, shown in the photos but not available for purchase.

Throughout history pansies have been used in herbal remedies and love potions, for example, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream includes a love potion with the juice of a flower called ‘love-in-idleness’ also known as a pansy.
