small sterling silver beach pebble earrings ... reminiscent of that day strolling along the shoreline at the beach ... which day?  which beach?  that doesn't matter because any day strolling along any beach is a treasure ... beachy summer jewelry. 

- approximate pebble measurement - smaller pebble 1/2" x 3/8“ (12mm x 11mm) and 
larger pebble 5/8" x 1/2" (15mm x 12mm) with thickness under 2mm - thin for a comfortable earring weight

I have sand cast the small pebbles in sterling silver.  Then after cleaning up the castings I added the suspension loops and oxidized them to reveal their beautiful rustic texture.

The sand casting process - I create a mold in packed sand, torch melt the metal and pour it into the cavity of the sand mold. The cooled metal is then removed and the castings require quite a lot of clean up before being finished and fashioned into jewelry. It’s a process done one at a time, a new sand mold is made for each and every casting and therefore every item will vary uniquely with natural imperfections due to the sand casting process.
