Here's an interesting and unique reversible antique brass panel watch fob, each of the three round panels with a different image, all seemingly related to the automotive industry.  I'm really not sure but it does appear to have an automotive logo so may have been an advertising fob chain, a promotional item.

- description -

The antique paneled watch fob was once a decorative accessory that gentlemen would wear, clipped their jacket or vest, when they were all dolled up in their glad rags.
This fob chain has three round reversible panels, three different sizes, with different images on both sides, topped with a dog clip and all linked together with jump rings.

- fob panels metal - brass
- jump rings and dog clip - brass and the dog clip does not swivel
- width - smallest panel just over 3/4" (21mm), largest panel 1 1/4" (31mm),
- length - 4 1/2" (116mm) including dog clip

1st panel (smallest) - a glove over a wrench and screwdriver
- reverse - a wheel with spokes and wings through the center

2nd panel (medium) - a lantern
- reverse - a colonial man? wearing an ornate hat

3rd panel (largest) - a two seater open air (convertible) antique car
- reverse - a driver wearing his chauffeurs cap and uniform

I believe the watch fob chain dates back to the early 1900's but there are no markings to prove me correct.  I've searched and searched and cannot find another.

Watch fob chains have been popular since the 16th century as a means to connect a pocket watch to a buttonhole or waistcoat so that the pocket watch could quickly be retrieved from the pocket. As time passed, the fobs and fob chains became more decorative, jewelry-like and more of a fashion statement.

This is an antique and it does show signs of age and wear so please study the photos carefully and ask any questions because antiques sales are final - non returnable/refundable

Impressed with history!
