I have sand cast the small pebbles in sterling silver mixed with a touch of bronze to create this light golden color ... alchemy.  Then after cleaning up the castings I added the suspension loops and oxidized them to reveal their beautiful rustic texture.

The sand casting process - I create a mold in packed sand, torch melt the metal and pour it into the cavity of the sand mold. The cooled metal is then removed and the castings require quite a lot of clean up before being finished and fashioned into jewelry. It’s a process done one at a time, a new sand mold is made for each and every casting and therefore every item will vary uniquely with natural imperfections due to the sand casting process.
