Hestia the ghost necklace pendant - impressionable heart ghost wax sea
Meet Hestia, the sweetest little ghost wax seal pendant named after the Greek goddess of the hearth. She’s the central fire with her big love for family, friends and community. She secretly shares her expression of love by delivering a tiny witch heart intaglio on her base … the tip at the bottom of the heart curves slightly to one side.
Historically, that little curve on the witch's heart was a symbol of protection against evil or was given as a token of being "bewitched" or deeply in love, a design that dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
Hestia’s heart is ready to be used as a wax seal to seal your spooky love correspondence.
This sweet little disembodied soul was hand sculpted from a chunk of carving wax, cast in solid sterling silver and hand finished in my little studio so there may be minuscule variations.
- ghost measurements - 5/8“ (16mm) plus suspension loops x just over 3/8" (11mm)

A bit about the origin of the English word ghost ~ it was derived from the Old English word gāst, a noun that meant spirit, soul, breath and angel.

sealing wax stick with a wick …
it’s easy and requires just a match with no other melting equipment
*** how to use:
- light the wick of the stick and hold it like a candle (vertically) until you see wax begin to melt around the base of the wick. the melting wax provides fuel to keep the flame lit
- slowly tip and hold the wax stick at a slight 20 degree angle (lit end down) directly over
the area where you wish to impress your your little ghost, allowing the melting wax to pool on your project … 9 small drops pooled seems just right for the tiny ghost
- center your little ghost intaglio over the pool, impress and extinguish the flame on your stick … (best to let it rest on a safe non-stick surface) and after a few seconds lift the little ghost straight up from the cooling wax
- if you find the wax won't let go of the seal, just let your ghost rest on the wax until the wax is completely cool, then lift your seal off. if you continue having difficulty lifting the little ghost from the wax just set it on ice before impressing
