fox watch key charm - fox pendant watch winder
Wind it back in time with this sly fox watch key necklace pendant. The lovely figural double faced fox head watch key has the same detailed facial features on both sides with an ornate loop directly attached and suspended with a large jump ring.
Fox images were the staple of Victorian hunting jewelry, inspired by the sport of fox hunting and the fox hunting party … the thrill of the hunt. TALLY HO!

The figural fox head watch key charm has been reproduced from an antique late Victorian era (1890) pinchbeck watch winder key from my private collection of interesting novelty watch keys, and is shown in the last 2 photos, but it is not meant to wind your pocket watch since the replica key hole size may be off.
A watch key, or key winder, was necessary to wind the watch and to set the movements. The sizes of the watch keys varied, and were made to fit the square shaft in the pocket watch to wind the watch, and the styles varied, some were no more than functional and some were fabulously ornate fobs or pendants.
Impressed with history!
