This little basket began its life in the Victorian era (1837 - 1901), also a tiny fob wax seal but originally held a pale blue glass intaglio of a tiny anchor on which sat a little bird barely held in a gilt basket fob. The antique basket fob was truly well loved and misshapen which caused the glass intaglio to pop out often. It was one of these times that I went to put it back but did something wrong and the glass intaglio shattered ... I've included a photo of the original.

I adored the woven details of the little basket, the little open weave basket around the top edging and the ribbed handle and I was shattered that it broke but decided it needed to live on so I had it molded and worked with the wax to carve a new intaglio basket bottom that has been cast in sterling silver. The basket charm is still a bit misshapen as I decided that was part of the charm.
