- additional information -
The skull and crossbones symbol consists of a human skull over two long thigh bones crossed together. Throughout history it has been used in several contexts... a poison warning, a military symbol, a symbol for secret societies and more.
In Christianity it marks mortality.
In general Freemasonry and the Knights Templar it is an emblem of our limited opportunity to do good. Since it is a symbol of mortality, it should make us remember because at one time the skull contained the mind of a living soul. We are instructed that we can never too often consider our own mortality. And with that instruction we should be reminded that there is never any certainty that we can correct our mistakes of today by any action we will have the opportunity to perform tomorrow.
Impressed with history!
