Hold court with this gold royal skull and crossbones wax seal necklace charm, the skull and bones under a crown ... memento mori wax seal jewelry.

- symbolism -
In heraldry, the skull and crossed thighbones are symbolic of mortality and the crown represents monarchy, state and power and denotes dignity and accomplishment.
It is said that the crown above the skull head may represent that death is the master of all.  It is also symbolic of loyalty.
The skull is often called the Latin MEMENTO MORI and roughly translates remember that you must die, a reminder that death comes to all living things and life is short so make now matter.

Impressed from an 18th century Georgian fob wax seal which likely belonged to a royalist follower of King Charles I to commemorate his death after his execution on 1649. King Charles I memorials went on being made, especially after the restoration.

Gold vermeil is a technique of plating that was developed by French artisans in the 18th century.
This high quality plating adds a thick layer of gold, in this case 2.5 microns of 14k gold, over .925 sterling silver.
It’s crafted only using precious metals so it is more hypoallergenic.
Care: it should be stored it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
As with all jewelry, remove before bathing or applying perfume as this can cause dullness.
