Adorn yourself with this sweet little crowned frog, is it a frog prince wax seal necklace or a frog princess wax seal necklace? You decide or create your own narrative.

- symbolism -
In heraldry the frog or toad were classified as reptiles, along with lizards, serpents, salamanders and turtles. In heraldry, reptiles symbolize wisdom and protection. The crown represents royal or seigniorial authority.

Of course, it makes me think of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Frog Prince (Iron Heinrich or Iron Henry) originally written in 1812 about a princess who reluctantly befriends a frog and when she kisses him he's transformed into a handsome prince, breaking the spell. Did you know there is another version of this story? The frog princess is a Russian folk tale, The Frog Tsarevna, written in 1918.

Hand cast from an unusual but fabulous antique bloodstone and gold signet ring that hails back to 1880. I'd love to know the full back story to this ring!  It's shown in the photos but not available for purchase.
